Swedish Modern Floor Lamp in Rattan and Brass, 1940s
€4.500
Lovely Swedish modern floor lamp manufactured in Sweden, 1940s. The lamp has a wooden base supporting a slender brass stem decorated with rattan webbing. The combination of wood, brass and woven rattan gives it an unusual appearance, with the natural materials adding texture to the otherwise simple construction. The shade is mounted on a swivelling arm that can be adjusted in height, making the lamp practical beside a sofa or reading chair. The long arm allows the light to be positioned where needed without moving the base. The rattan webbing is a particularly nice detail, adding a decorative element without making the design feel elaborate. It also provides an interesting contrast to the brass fittings. Good vintage condition with natural patina and signs of age and use. The lamp comes with a new hand-pleated chintz fabric shade. Wiring: All our lamps are wired for EU standards. Unfortunately, we have neither the means nor the qualifications to wire them for US standards.
