Swedish Modern Floor Lamp in Brass, 1940s
€3.000
Swedish Modern Floor Lamp in Brass, Sweden, 1940s Swedish floor lamp from the 1940s, made entirely in brass, with a circular base, slender central stem and two adjustable arms supporting pleated fabric shades. The two arms can be swivelled independently and adjusted in height along the central stem. This allows the light sources to be positioned at different levels and directed where needed, making the lamp particularly useful beside a sofa or reading chair. The construction is straightforward, with the two arms extending from the central rod. The adjustable fittings are an important part of the design, giving the lamp flexibility without making the overall structure unnecessarily complicated. The brass has developed a natural patina over the years, with variations in colour and surface tone that have been preserved. The pleated fabric shades are newly made and provide a soft contrast to the brass. Good vintage condition with signs of age and use consistent with its age. The brass retains its natural patina, and both shades are new. Wiring: All our lamps are wired for EU standards. Unfortunately, we have neither the means nor the qualifications to wire them for US standards.
