Art Deco Floor Lamp in Brass, Sweden, 1930s Swedish Art Deco floor lamp from the 1930s, made in brass with a circular base, slender upright stem and gently curved arm supporting a pleated fabric shade. The lamp is adjustable in height, and the shade can be angled to direct the light. This makes it particularly suitable as a reading lamp beside a sofa or armchair. The curved arm gives the lamp a slightly asymmetrical appearance, contrasting with the straight vertical stem. The construction is relatively simple, relying on the shape of the brass arm and the proportions of the different parts rather than decorative ornamentation. The brass has developed a rich patina over the years, with variations in colour and wear, particularly around the base. The shade is newly made and hand-pleated, following the style of the period. Good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use, particularly to the brass base. The original patina has been preserved. New fabric shade. Wiring: All our lamps are wired for EU standards.
