Swedish Functionalist Floor Lamp, "77116" by Elektriska AB Chr Bergh & Co

€2.500

Swedish Functionalist Floor Lamp Model 77116 by Elektriska AB Chr Bergh & Co, 1938 A black iron base supports a slender metal tube with a swivelling arm and fabric shade. The height can be adjusted, and the arm allows the light to be positioned where needed, making the lamp particularly useful beside a sofa or reading chair. The design is typical of the early Functionalist period in Sweden, with a straightforward construction and very little decoration. The black base provides stability, while the narrow stem and projecting arm give the lamp a light, almost industrial appearance. Manufactured in 1938, the lamp is an early example of Swedish functionalist lighting, where adjustability and practical use were central to the design. The height is adjustable between 132-180cm (60-70.8”). Good vintage condition with natural patina and signs of age and use. The lamp comes with a new fabric shade.
