Pair of Swedish Mid-Century Wall Lamps in Brass and Glass by Falkenbergs Belysning, 1960s Elegant Swedish mid-century wall lamps manufactured by Falkenbergs Belysning during the 1960s. Combining warm brass with beautifully textured glass, the lamps have a refined decorative quality characteristic of Scandinavian lighting from the period. Each lamp features a substantial moulded glass shade mounted against a simple brass wall fitting. The pronounced texture of the glass creates a sculptural surface, giving the sconces an attractive presence even when they are not illuminated. When lit, the relief of the glass catches and refracts the light, creating subtle variations in brightness across its surface. The result is a soft, atmospheric illumination with considerably more depth and character than a conventional smooth glass shade. The warm brass fittings provide an elegant contrast to the clarity of the glass.
