Swedish Midcentury Wall Lamps in Brass and Glass by ASEA
€1.500 each
Pair of Swedish Mid-Century Wall Lamps in Brass and Glass by ASEA, Sweden, 1950s Elegant pair of Swedish mid-century wall lamps produced by ASEA in the 1950s. Crafted in brass and beautifully textured clear glass, the lamps combine a restrained architectural form with the refined material quality characteristic of Swedish lighting from the period. Each lamp features a substantial glass shade with a softly sculpted surface that catches and refracts the light beautifully. When illuminated, the textured glass creates a warm and atmospheric effect while retaining the clarity and brilliance of transparent glass. The shades are held by simple brass fittings, providing an elegant contrast between the warm metal and the crystalline quality of the glass. The construction is deliberately understated, allowing the distinctive texture and shape of the shades to become the main decorative feature. ASEA was one of Sweden's most important manufacturers of electrical equipment and lighting during the 20th century, producing numerous fixtures distinguished by their combination of functional engineering and sophisticated Scandinavian design. These sconces are a particularly attractive example of the company's decorative lighting from the post-war period. Their compact proportions and timeless materials make the lamps exceptionally versatile. They work beautifully as bedside lights, beside a mirror or doorway, or arranged as accent lighting along a hallway or larger wall. A refined example of Swedish 1950s lighting, combining elegant proportions, quality materials and beautifully diffused light. Very good vintage condition with minor signs of age and use consistent with their age. The brass displays a natural patina developed over time. Wiring: All our lamps are wired for EU standards. Unfortunately, we have neither the means nor the qualifications to wire them for US standards.

Condition
Good. Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. The sides of the back plates have been polished (to get rid of old paint), while we chose to preserve the patina on the rest of the fixture. A hole is cut on each back plate for the wiring, shown on picture. The shades remain in very good condition.
