Scandinavian Midcentury Bedside Tables by Yngvar Sandström
€2.500 for the pair
Pair of Bedside Tables by Yngvar Sandström for Seffle Möbelfabrik, Sweden, 1960s Elegant pair of Scandinavian mid-century bedside tables designed by Yngvar Sandström for Seffle Möbelfabrik in the 1960s. Crafted in warm teak, the tables feature a distinctive two-tier construction with clean lines and beautifully balanced proportions. Each table offers two generously sized surfaces positioned at different levels, creating both visual interest and ample space for books, lighting and other bedside essentials. A discreet drawer beneath the lower tabletop provides additional storage, finished with a small brass knob that adds a subtle decorative contrast to the warm tone of the teak. The open, asymmetrical construction gives the tables a light architectural quality, while the simplicity of the design allows the natural grain and richness of the wood to take centre stage. The combination of practical storage, thoughtful proportions and restrained detailing is characteristic of Scandinavian Modern furniture of the period. Although designed as bedside tables, their generous proportions and sculptural form also make them particularly versatile as side or end tables in a living room. Good original vintage condition with light dents, scratches and other minor signs of age and use, as shown in the pictures.
