Swedish Nesting Tables, 1930s
€1.500 for all
Swedish Nesting Tables in Birch, Sweden, 1930s Elegant set of three Swedish nesting tables from the 1930s, crafted in beautifully figured birch. The warm golden tone and expressive grain of the wood give the tables a rich decorative quality, while their clean proportions keep the overall appearance refined and understated. The three tables are made in graduating sizes and designed to slide neatly beneath one another when not in use. Each features a rectangular tabletop with softly rounded corners, supported by slender tapered legs that give the construction a light and graceful appearance. The simplicity of the design allows the natural beauty of the birch to take centre stage. Its subtle figuring changes with the light, bringing warmth and depth to the otherwise restrained form. The combination of fine materials, practical construction and elegant proportions is characteristic of Swedish furniture design of the interwar period. Both decorative and highly functional, the tables can be used together as a tiered composition or separated and placed throughout a room as individual side or occasional tables. When nested, they occupy remarkably little space, making them particularly versatile. Good original vintage condition with signs of age and use, particularly to the table tops, as shown in the pictures.
