Scandinavian Flower Table "Miami" by Nils Jonsson for Troeds

€2.000

“Miami” Flower Table by Nils Jonsson for Troeds, Sweden, 1960s Elegant Scandinavian mid-century flower table model “Miami”, designed by Nils Jonsson for Troeds in the 1960s. Crafted in warm teak and fitted with an integrated copper planter, the piece combines furniture and greenery in a beautifully balanced architectural composition. The elongated design features a raised teak surface alongside the recessed planter, creating different levels within the same piece. The slender frame and tapered legs give the table a light and refined silhouette, while the warm tones of the teak contrast beautifully with the aged surface of the copper. Designed specifically for displaying indoor plants, the integrated planter allows greenery to become part of the furniture itself. Flower tables such as this became a distinctive feature of Scandinavian interiors during the mid-century period, reflecting an increasing desire to bring natural materials and living plants into the modern home. The copper has developed a rich patina over time, adding depth and individuality to the piece and complementing the warm grain of the teak. The simplicity of the surrounding wooden structure allows both the materials and whatever is planted within it to become the visual focus. Nils Jonsson designed numerous pieces for Troeds, often characterised by clean proportions, functional construction and a sensitive use of wood. The “Miami” is a particularly charming example, combining these qualities with the playful and increasingly sought-after flower-table typology of the period. A highly decorative and versatile piece that works beautifully as a planter and side table, room divider, or sculptural display piece in both mid-century and contemporary interiors. Very good original vintage condition with minor signs of age and use. The copper planter displays a beautiful natural patina developed over time.
